SERIOUSNESS ABOUT ONE'S INNER LIFE IS YOUR BEST CONTRIBUTION TO OTHERS...December 30, 2024

There is nothing more humbling, or should be when it becomes conscious, to a present day human than to know the powers for good and evil are in the Unonscious, not 'out there' somewhere. And the same Unconcious and it's powers are the foundation of every one of us. 

To take this seriously and in a religious-like way is likely the most responsible person any one of us can become. Look around. It seems urgent that more persons attempt to take on our part of this responsibility. It involves learning to look within our own heart. This will determine the near and far future of earth and Humanity itself. 

 We've not been taught to do this, no matter how good an upbringing we think we've had. This is true for my age and even more for those younger. Our families, schools, governments, even churches have been primarily busy for several centuries with external matters, believing them to be most important in determining the future. That has become an outdated, even disastrous, point of view no matter how typical it still is. 

 Jung, a devoted M.D. and psychotherapist, described all this and more nearly a hundred years ago in Switzerland. He was a rediscoverer of the reality of the Unconscious. He positively, hopefully and creatively expanded much beyond what Freud had presently spectacularly uncovered.
